We have been playing music most of our lives - piano, guitar and musical instruments from around the world.

In c2019 I was asked by Abbey Road Studio, London to supply them with my Baldwin Electric Harpsichord. This was to be used for an album, The Beach Boys with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

As a Blues style player I have recently started playing Cigar Box guitars.https://www.drummondandhammett.com/ I use both 3 and 4 string instruments, tuned to open G. I have used them in my adult guitar class, which I run on a Monday night in Romford, Essex. I use an Especial 3 srting instrument made by Drummond & Hammett, who made this 6 stringed Deluxe guitar, as used by Seasick Steve.

I like to have some fun with my guitars, I also like to use different instruments with my band.

I am a great fan of resonator guitars and I have a few that I use for blues, rock and fingerstyle gospel tunes. I own some very basic instruments from very cheap

Irish tenor banjo, Mandolin and Ukelele. Terry will also introduce blues guitarist to the 3 and 4 stringed open tuned Cigar Box guitar, also acoustic slide guitar in open G and D tunimg.
We can help or introduce people to Sitar, Kora and even Shamisen.
The Japanese Shamisen uses a TAB system like a guitar, there should be numbers going up the neck of your shamisen to help you find the correct notes but there are no frets. I have only found one book that is written in English
I have not found any books in English for learning this instrument. The book below comes in two versions, one with CD Rom and The other with video links. I found that the CD version doesn't seem to have the disk included but the video version you can get the QR codes to link to the vdeo demos through out the book.
I stock good quality new and used classical guitars, I also have some rare and unusual instruments for sale. I have sold items to museum collections, it it worth sending me an e mail, as I do get around a few auctions and find stuff.
I have for sale a selection of classical guitars by Rodrigo of Spain. These come in 4 sizes and retail at £155 with a good quality gig bag. These are a higher quality guitar and are only on view by appointment, or for sale to our existing students.
I also have for sale some rare and unusual instruments for sale, see below.
This rare reed organ is one of only 4 known examples in the world. There is an example in Tasmania, not working. This one is in Colchester, Essex and the third was sold by Sothebys New York
The instrument is working and mostly in original condition, the mahogany case has the original finish but some of the ivory keys need to be re glued. This instrument is very rare and would suit a collector or museum.
I will except a reasonable offer and apply for a cites certificate if you are interested.
John Green, 33 Soho Square, London, from c1833 to c1848 introduced this reed organ in c1834, 20 years before the harmonium was patented in France. It has an F to F 5 octave compass and 3 pedals, including a swell which lifts the lid. These instruments when new sold for 40 guineas. Samuel Wesley the organist performed a weekly concert on the Royal Seraphine.

A rare opportunity to own a sixties classic. The instrument has been preserved in its original state, including the perspex top and music desk, formica red soundboard and original plastic harpsichord jacks. The legs are original but have had blocks cut into where the bolts meet the aluminium case. This was done to make them more stable. This harpsichord is easy to tune and maintain. This particular instrument has been used by Abbey Road Studio for The Beach Boys album with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. It has also been used by several sampling companies.

We do like to get out and play the odd gig.

Terry with The Shades play a great venue at Canary Wharf.

Terry's old band The Shades supporting act, great rock gig just before lock down.
Terry & Philippa Rolison, guitar and piano lessons
